The stay of Alta Gracia was one of the more prosperous rural centers of the Cordovan campaign, had as objective the support of the Máximo School (Jesuita), that soon would be transformed into the first university of the Argentine territory and maintained a fluid economic interchange with the others to hunt jesuíticas.
In 1810 the Stay was acquired by Santiago de Liniers that lived few months in the house.
In 1820 José Manuel Solares it bought the property to the family of Liniers, being the last owner.
By testamentary will it decided the defining of lands for the conformation of a villa, today city of Alta Gracia, being the residence in the center of the urban nucleus to which it gave origin. During one hundred years the Lozada, heirs of Solares were the proprietors of the constructions adjacent jesuíticas and earth. In 1969 the Argentina Nation expropió to its owners the residence, turning it Museum, inaugurated officially in 1977.
