uestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepción del Uruguay, as outside his name primigenio, is located on margin right of River Uruguay (guaraní word which it means River of the Birds or the conches), being the capital of the entrerriana culture, keeps the attractive secret from a special one for the traveller.
n the region charrúas and guaraníes inhabited the natives. Charrúas lived towards century XVII, in most of the province of Entre Ríos. They were high and robust and the deer hunting of and ñandúes dedicated themselves to, whereas charrúas of the coast practiced the fishing in their long canoes.
They complemented its wild diet with ñandú eggs, cogollos of ceibo and fruits. They lived in huts constructed with bent branches, whose ceilings were horse or cow skins. Its clothes consisted sometimes of an apron of cotton or skin and of a mantle of skin.

They were sedentary. They constructed round huts, with walls of mud and straw, or communal houses of wood and leaves, in which several families lived. They cultivated mandioca, the sweet potato, the maize and zapallo in milpa. Their arms were the arc - it got to measure more than two meters and the arrows and the macana.
They were great potters and very good navigators (their canoes were very long) and each community was governed by tubichá.

In January of 1860, the reunited Provincial Convention in the enclosure of the Historical School, sanctioned the entrerriana Constitution.
As much General Francisco Ramirez as General Justo Jose de Urquiza they constituted at its moment, in authentic caudillos from the Province to point so, that General Ramirez, facing the unitarismo of Buenos Aires that limited the commercial possibilities of the region, created the Republic of Entre Ríos.
General Justo Jose de Urquiza - remarkable politician and statesman - after the national organization, was the first constitutional President of the country.
