News - Heavy sentences for former policemen the murder of Kosteki and Santillán. :
This is the end of an announced chronicle.

Two former policemen from Buenos Aires, former superintendent Alfredo Fanchiotti and former sergeant Alejandro Acosta were both convinced yesterday to a life sentences for the murder of Dario Santillán and Maximiliano Kosteki, committed three and a half years ago in Avellaneda.
The term, the same asked by the victims families lawyers and the public minister, also includes other misconducts: seven attempt of murder at the disadvantage of the same amount of seriously injured demonstrators in June, 26 2002, when the police of Buenos Aires, backed up by other security task forces, prevent a attempt to cut the traffic at the Pueyrredon bridge.

The heavy sentences were ordered by the oral court in the criminal chamber 7# at Lomas de Zamora, presided by Judge Elsa López Moyano, and also joined by her colleagues Roberto Lugones and Jorge Roldán.

Ex-superintendent Felix Vega- Fanchiotti’s former superior- and former principal officials Carlos Quevedo and Mario de la Fuente were convict at four years each for “aggravate dissimulation of the homicides”. Official Gastón Sierra and sergeant Colman, also charged for dissimulation, were convict to three and two and a half years sentences.

Former policeman Celestino Robledo received the lowest sentence: ten month for “usurpation of authority”. He took part in the repression while he wasn’t policeman anymore.

“I bear to watch their faces. They’re going to rot in jail those murderers”, shouted Aurora Cividino, one of the wounded demonstrators, as soon as the judges left the court. “Good, comrades!” was shout.

Now the victim’s parents want the research about the political responsibilities go further.
